Description

The 'steering' wheels were linked to the centre pole by gearing and the ride was turned by the front seat rider of each car.

If the various cars acted in unison then quite a speed could be got up or they could oppose each other in a trial of strength and get nowhere. It is thought that there was incorporated a sort of gimbal or trunnion that allowed a see-saw motion of the whole thing!
